1.2 The Power of Nature
A unique aspect of AQUAQUICK 2000 is its ability to stimulate the explosive growth of bacteria and microorganisms naturally found in the environment. These organisms require a carbon source for their metabolic processes, growth, and multiplication. AQUAQUICK 2000 facilitates this process, enabling these organisms to convert the AQUAQUICK / hydrocarbon emulsion into harmless components like CO2 (carbon dioxide), H20 (water), Biomass, and energy. This biotransformation process is an aerobic one, meaning it consumes oxygen.

The invention of AQUAQUICK 2000 can be traced back to the passion and efforts of Henri de Vries. In 1967, following the catastrophic Torrey Canyon disaster where a Liberian super oil tanker stranded on the rocks of the British Island Cornwall spilled 120,000 tons of crude oil into the sea, a strong interest in environmentally friendly oil spill solutions arose. This disaster was the first of its kind involving a supertanker and became the most significant environmental disaster of its time.
Responding to the environmental crisis, Henri de Vries spearheaded the development of AQUAQUICK 2000, officially launching it in 1988. In the early years, he tirelessly marketed AQUAQUICK 2000, demonstrating its effectiveness in removing oil spills from roads and markets to Fire Departments and municipalities in the Netherlands. Joined by his son, Bart H de Vries, they traveled throughout their homeland, promoting AQUAQUICK 2000 and establishing long-term customer relationships.
